FAQs

What sort of leather do you use?

I use vegetable (or 'veg') tanned leather. Veg tanning is one of the oldest, traditional processes there is.

For my carved goods, I predominantly use oak bark tanned leather, bought from J & FJ Bakers, the last oak bark tannery in Britain.

How do Digital Patterns work?

Digital Patterns are downloadable pdf files which are sold on my Etsy page.

After purchasing one of my digital listings, Etsy will send you a link to your pattern.

If you have an Etsy account (which I recommend), stencils will be available on your profile for as many downloads as you would like.

Why do you only sell digital patterns on Etsy?

In 2021, governments changed the tax rules for digital downloads. If I use Etsy for Digital Downloads, Etsy will work out and pay the correct amount of taxes to relevant countries for me.

If I were to sell my patterns here, I would have to calculate and apply multiple tax rates across multiple international markets.

In short, using Etsy is a lot easier right now!

Do you offer international shipping?

Absolutely! I'll ship to most countries.

Shipping to the US usually takes 5-10 days. I ship using a tracked, signed and insured service for peace of mind and security of your order.

Do you take custom orders?

I'm always open to chatting about custom pieces.

I prefer to stay within floral / western style vinework tooling but you're welcome to contact me about anything.

Please bear in mind a 50% down payment is expected on custom work, and lead times vary dependent on how busy I am at the time.
